Anti-Bacterial Agents

-Dwacomb® has several therapeutic properties     
 anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, antibacterial and  
 antifungal, which are useful in treatment of minor and 
 moderate inflammatory skin lesions.
-Triamcinolone acetonide is a corticosteroid that acts as 
  anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and anti-allergic.
-Nystatin is an antifungal agent characterized by 
  specific anticandidal activity.
-The two antibiotics (Neomycin and Gramicidin) 
 provide together antibacterial properties which cover 
 wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative 
 micro-organisms.
 

Indecation

 Dwacomb®  is indicated in the treatment of 
  inflammatory skin lesions, particularly when 
  accompanied by candidal and/or bacterial infections. 
  Such skin diseases include:
- Surface bacterial infections    - Skin candidosis
- Infantile eczema                  - Atopic dermatitis
- Dermatitis herpetiformis        - Contact dermatitis
- Stasis eczema                         - Seborrheic eczema
- Dermatitis venenata               - Neurodermatitis
- Anal and vulvar pruritus        -  Psoriasis
- Post traumatic  infective        -  Follicular dermatitis
  eczema

Dosage & Administration

 Apply a thin film of  Dwacomb®  on the affected 
 area 2 or 3 times daily. An occlusive dressing may be 
 used, but should be covered with a suitable sheath to 
 prevent loss of medication.

- Each 1 gram of  Dwacomb® contains:
- Triamcinolone acetonide            1 mg
- Neomycin (as sulfate)             2.5 mg
- Gramicidin              0.25 mg
- Nystatin                            100,000 IU

  Dwacomb® should not be used in the following 
  cases:
- Any fungal infection of the skin except candidiasis.
- Herpes simplex.
- Tubercular infections of the skin.
- Vaccina, Eczema vaccinatus, Varicella or other viral 
   infections.
- Hypersensitivity to Neomycin, Nystatin, Gramicidin  
  or Triamcinolone acetonide.
- Contraindicated in the eyes and external auditory 
  canal in patients with perforated ear drum.
 

 Dwacomb®  is well tolerated. Sensitivity reactions 
 such as burning sensation, itching and irritation 
 may occasionally be experienced. Secondary 
 infection may occur with the prolonged use of 
 topical corticosteroids.

-The prolonged use of Dwacomb®  may lead to  
 development of non-sensitive micro-organisms 
 including fungi not belonging to the Candida species; 
 if the patient does not respond rapidly, Dwacomb®  
 should be discontinued until the infection has been 
 controlled. However, the treatment should be  
 discontinued if any local irritation or sensitivity 
 reaction appears.
-Dwacomb®  should be avoided in patients with 
 extensive skin damage, because the absorption of 
 Neomycin and Triamcinolone can possibly lead to 
 nephrotoxicity, ototoxicity or appearance of 
 corticosteroidal side effects.

 Dwacomb®   cream: tube of 15gm.
 Dwacomb®   ointment: tube of 15gm.
 

Keep at room temperature not exceed 25 °C.
