PRONYAN® solution is a herbal medicine which
contains ivy leaf extract as an active substance
which contains hederacoside C 3.75 mg /5ml.
Owing to this herbal extract, PRONYAN®
solution may occasionally appear slightly cloudy
or taste slightly different. This does not have any
effect, however, on the quality of the product.
Ivy leaf extract acts as expectorant and helps
release and elimination of adhered mucus.
PRONYAN® Solution is used to improve
symptoms of chronic-inflammatory bronchial
diseases, acute inflammations of the respiratory
tract accompanied by coughing.
- PRONYAN® solution is used to treat catarrhal
diseases of the respiratory tract, by its
secretolytic, broncho-spasmolytic and cough
relieving effects.
PRONYAN® solution is used as described in
below or as prescribed by your doctor or
pharmacist.
- Adults and children 12 years of age and over:
5 ml to 7.5 ml three times daily.
- Children (6 to 12 years):
5 ml twice daily.
- Children between 2 - 6 years of age:
2.5 ml twice daily.
Each 100 ml of PRONYAN® Solution contains:
Ivy leaves extract 0.7 g
PRONYAN® solution is contrainticated in:-
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any
ingredients in this product.
No interactions have become known so far.
However, no studies have been carried out.
- Concomitant use with other expectorant without
medical supervision is not recommended.
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before
taking any medicine.
- No clinical trials have been conducted in pregnant
and breastfeeding mothers and therefore the use
of PRONYAN® during pregnancy and
breastfeeding is not recommended.
- Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side
effects, although not everybody gets them.
These side effects may be very rare as allergic
reactions such as shortness of breath, swelling,
redness of skin, feeling of itching,
gastrointestinal problems such as nausea, and
vomiting.
The use of PRONYAN® in children below 2
years is not recommended due to the risk of
abnormal swallowing of sputum that may lead
to dyspnoea as well as because vomiting and
diarrhoea may occur more frequently in this age
group.
- PRONYAN® solution should be used with
caution in patients with gastritis or gastric ulcer.
