Folin B6

- Folin-B6®  contains two important 
 constituents in the treatment of Megaloplastic 
 anaemia, and chronic debilitating diseases. 
-Folic acid is essencial for normal 
 erythropoiesis and is used in the  management 
 of megaloblastic anaemia.
-Vitamin B6  is essencial for metabolism of 
 amino acids, lipids, and carbohydrates. 
 Vitamin B6 deficiency affects mainly 
 peripheral nerves and the hematopoietic 
 systems.

Each film coated tablet of  Folin-B6®  
 contains :-
- Folic acid                            5   mg.
- Vitamin  B 6 (pyridoxine)  50 mg

Hypersensitivity to any API (s) of the 
 preparation.

- Folate deficiency may be produced by: 
 antiepileptics, oral contraceptives, antitubercu
 lous drugs, alcohol and folic acid antagonists 
 such as methotrexate, pyrimethamine, 
 triamterene, trimethoprime and sulfonamides, 
 so dose of Folin-B6® must be increased in this 
 case.
- Pyridoxine reduces the effects of levodopa and 
 altretamine. Also it decreases serum concentra
 tions of phenobarbital and phenytion.
- Many drugs may increase the requirements of 
 pyridoxine, such drugs include hydralazine, 
 isoniazid, penicillinamine, and oral contracep
 tives. 

Folin-B6® can be used during pregnancy and 
 lactation. 

Folin-B6® is generally well tolerated. 
 Gastrointestinal disturbances and hypersensitivity reactions have been reported rarely.

- Long- term of large doses of pyridoxine is 
 associated with the  development  of severe 
 peripheral neuropathies, the dose at which 
 those occur is controversial

-Blister of  10 tablets, pack of 3 blisters. 
-Hospital packs with different sizes. 

-Store in a dry place, at a temperature below  
 30 °C.
