- Calcium carbonate is an inorganic salt. It is converted to  
 calcium chloride by gastric acid. Some of calcium is  
 absorbed from the intestine.
-Absorption of calcium is affected  by presence of food.  
 Absorption also is increased in calcium deficiency and  
 during periods of high physiological requirement as 
 during childhood or pregnancy and lactation .
-Unabsorbed calcium is eliminated in feces, together with 
 secreted in bile and pancreatic juice,  Excess calcium is 
 excreted by renal.

* Each chewable  tablet of Osteo-Health®  1500    
 contains:
 Calcium carbonate 1500mg equivalent to 600mg of 
 calcium 
* Each chewable tablet of Osteo-Health®  600 contains:
 Calcium carbonate  600mg equivalent to 240mg of 
 calcium. 

 Osteo-Health®  should be avoided in patients with: 
- Calcium renal calculi, or history of renal calculi.
- Constipation.
- GI bleeding.
- Hypercalcaemia.
- Peptic ulcer.

- Hypercalcaemia has occurred when Osteo-Health®  is  
 given with Thiazide Diuretics or Vitamin D.
-Bran and Corticosteroids decrease the gastrointestinal 
 absorption of Calcium when ad mini strated with 
 Osteo-Health®  concurrently
-Calcium enhances the effect of Digitalis and may precipitate 
 Digitalis intoxication when administrated with 
 Osteo-Health®  concurrently.
-Calcium enhance reduces the absorption of Bisphosphate, 
 Fluoride, some Fluoroquinolones and Tetracyclines,  
 administration should be separated by at last 3 hours

- Calcium is very important during pregnancy and  
 lactation,so Osteo-Health® can be given during these  
 periods.

 Osteo-Health®  may cause:
- Constipation and flatulence .
- Gastric hypersecretion and peptic ulcer,in high doses or 
 prolonged use.
- Hypercalcaemia, particularly with renal impairment or 
 after high doses,
- Rarely :Milk-alkali syndrome and tissue calcification.
 

- Osteo-Health®  Should be given cautiously to patients 
 with renal impairment, or diseases associated with 
 hypercalcaemia such as sarcoidosis and some malignancies.
- Plasma-calcium concentrations should be monitored 
 Closely in patients with renal impairment and if large 
 doses of vitamin D or thiazide diuretics are used 
 concurrently with  Osteo-Health®.

- Blister of 10 tablets, Pack of 3 blisters.

- Store in a dry place at a temperature below 30oC.
