Elicort ointment


- Mometasone furoate, like other topical 
  corticosteroids, has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, 
  and vasoconstrictive properties through controlling 
  the biosynthesis of potent mediators of inflammation 
  such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes.


- Each 1g Elicort® Ointment contains: 
  Mometasone furoate      1mg
- Each 1g Elicort® Cream contains: 
  Mometasone furoate     1mg


- Elicort® is contraindicated in patients who are 
  sensitive to Mometasone furoate, to other  
  corticosteroids or any component of these preparation.

As all other topical corticosteroids, drugs of this 
  class should not be used by pregnant or lactating 
  women in large amounts or for prolonged period of 
  time. 

As any drug, Elicort® has some common side effects
  included burning, pruritus, skin atrophy, tingling/ 
  stinging, rosacea, and furunculosis.

 Elicort® should not be used in the treatment of 
  diaper dermatitis.
- Avoid use of Elicort® on the face, groin, or axillae. 
- Avoid contact of  Elicort® with eyes. 
- Wash hands after each application.
- Elicort® is for topical use only. It is not for oral, 
  ophthalmic, or intravaginal use.
- Using Elicort® in pediatric patients under 2 years of 
  age is not recommended  .


Warning:
- If irritation develops, Elicort® should be discontinued 
  and appropriate therapy instituted. 
- If concomitant skin infections are present or 
  developed, an appropriate antifungal or antibacterial
  agent should be used. 

Elicort® Ointment: aluminum tube 20 g.
- Elicort® Cream: aluminum tube 20 g.


- Store at a temperature below 25 °C.
