Nistan

Nistan® is a polyene antifungal antibiotic which interferes with the permeability of the cell membrane of sensitive fungi.                                   
-    It has main action against Candida spp. 
-    Nistan® especially formulated for the treatment of oral, intestinal, vulvovaginal and cutaneous mycotic infections caused by candida albicans.
-     Nistan® is poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. 
-     Nistan® oral suspension is artificially sweeted, so it is suitable for diabetic patients.

-Each 1 ml of Nistan® Oral Suspension Drops contains: NYSTATIN 100000 I.U .

Hypersensitivity to nystatin.

With oral treatment, in order to achieve maximum effect from  Nistan® ,any propulsive or digestive agent and generally any  agent capable to isolate the mucous membrane from the activity of the drug has to be avoided.


-    Nausea,vomiting and diarrhoea have occasionally been reported after oral use of nystatin.
-    Oral irritation or sensitisation may occur.

n pregnant women,  Nistan® must be administered only in case of real necessity and only under direct control of physician. 
-    It is not know whether nystatin is excreted in human milk, caution should be taken when  Nistan® is prescribed to a nursing women.
-    Unlicensed for treatment of candidiasis in neonate.

-Bottle of 30 ml oral suspension drops with 
  standard dropper.

-Store at temperature below 30° C, protected
   from direct light.
